I recently came across this tweet that triggered a lot of people.
It elicited responses such as this:
So my question: Why’s it perceived negative for someone to “reap what he/she has sown”? Why might it be a problem at work?

Though the phrase is a common saying that essentially means that the consequences or results of your actions are directly related to those actions, it is mostly used as an indirect derivative of karma, especially here in Nigeria. So when people hear “You shall reap what you sow”, they instantly check themselves to find out where or what they’ve done wrong. I’ll say it’s just the general African ideology of everyone is wicked and don’t mean you well.
When you’ve lived long enough, you just know that you’ve not made all good choices… so saying “you will reap what you sow” also covers “the good, the bad and the ugly”
